Diablo 3

Diablo III is the latest installment in the Diablo hack and slash dungeon style world. Obviously being the third installment it is slated to be released in 2011.

There has been many an argument over whether this installment of Diablo would be a true multiplayer, or only multiplayer over the battle.net system. As of right now, the game is said to only be multiplayer via the battle.net system. There have been rumors that Diablo III will also be available for console systems, but this has not been validated by Blizzard just yet. One point of contention with a lot of Diablo fans is the fact that it will not be available for LAN play.

Set in the dark fantasy world of Sanctuary the world that was saved by our heroes in the last installment Diablo II. The onslaught of the armories of burning hells have caused the heroes of that time to go insane from their trials, and now it is up to a new generation of adventurers to defeat the evil forces that are even now threatening the world of Sanctuary.

Class specific quests, static levels, and new armor pieces are some of the new features. Also, "sidekicks" are now full companions that join your avatar, which differs from the random and replaceable hiring system in previous installments.

Another new feature for Diablo III is the use of "Skill Runes" a randomly dropped item that are used by all classes. Attached to skills as items they can alter the gameplay of that chosen skill.

With 5 unique and playable classes, which now can be gender appropriate, Blizzard has announced that the only class they are bringing back from other Diablo games is the "barbarian" class. In addition to the barbarian, there will also be the monk, wizard, witch doctor, and demon hunter classes that players can pick to adventure with.
